Challenges, quests and adventures are one of the many things that make me feel truly alive. That’s why I am traveling, that’s why I started blogging, that’s why I am doing what I’m doing.
We often hide ourselves in our cosy little comfort zones, enjoying what we have and soothing into the easiness of accepting life as it is. And please don’t get me wrong: I believe that being grateful for what we have is very important in life.
But there is so much more.
There is all the dreams and visions we hold in our hearts. There is the things we want to do, have and be. There is the emotions we want to feel and connections we want to make. There is all the vitality and adventure we are seeking.
Now is the time.
Below are a links to challenges I completed, wrote about or am doing right now.
Be inspired and start your own personal quest. Today.
The tragedy of life is not death but what we let die inside of us while we live. (Norman Cousins)

#1 Around the world in 219 days
The idea for this blog was actually conceived before I started my round the world trip in September 2013. Initially, I just wanted to share my experiences with my family and friends. After blogging for a couple of months, I realised: “Holy cow, this is fun!” And I knew that I want to keep doing this. That I want to inspire YOU, my dear reader, to step out of your comfort zone, see this beautiful world with your own eyes and come alive.
What this challenge was all about: Like the title already reveals, I traveled the world in 219 days.
Morocco, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, Fiji, the United States.
I spent time with loved ones, and I also spent a lot of time with just myself. Having the opportunity to actually slow down and live in the moment taught me so much more about myself and my biggest dreams than staying in Germany would have done.
The result: I am officially addicted to freedom now. In his book “The $100 Startup” Chris Guillebeau wrote:
There is no rehab program for being addicted to freedom. Once you’ve seen what it’s like on the other side, good luck trying to follow someone else’s rules ever again.
Hell yeah, this is so true.

When you are a runner, the world is your gym.
And that’s why I will be running 21 half marathons in 21 different countries until 2012.

#3 The Alive Project: A journey towards more abundance, fulfillment and joy
We are all looking for more abundance, fulfillment and joy in our lives.
We want to feel alive.
And because a little inspiration always helps, I created The Alive Project. It’s a two week Twitter challenge (but you can also receive daily emails if you don’t have a Twitter account) and starts on June 9 2014. Join us and feel the power of truly being alive!
Always happy travels!
